Hi, I'm Brett.

Hurricane Sandy Table

Physical Installation at AMNH

This interactive map tells the story of New York City leading up to, during, and after hurricane Sandy hit in October 2014. A narrated video plays showing areas of flooding, power outages, and rebuilding efforts both planned and underway. At the end of the video visitors are able to flip through pictures and information specific to each of the 5 boroughs by pressing reactive areas of the table.

I developed this interactive in collaboration with a writing team and animators who took care of the script and visuals. It's an openFrameworks application and uses Phidgets to register touch interaction.
